About Tajrah

Who is Tajrah and what do you sell?

Tajrah is a small US-based retail team operated by IRONTRAIL AUTO PARTS LLC, based in Kalispell, Montana. We are a specialty retailer, not a manufacturer. We do not make the products we sell — our job is to find feeders and water fountains that genuinely work for everyday pet owners, evaluate them honestly, and carry only the ones we would feel comfortable recommending to someone we know.

We sell one category: automatic feeders and water fountains for cats and dogs. That focus is intentional. It means we know every product we carry, we know where the failure points are, and we are not guessing when someone asks us a question.

Why should I buy from Tajrah instead of a bigger store?

That is a fair question. Large retailers carry thousands of products and cannot evaluate each one closely. We carry six. We have read the community threads, checked the certification paperwork, and tested the products against the complaints that show up most often — WiFi compatibility, food jams, cleaning difficulty, app reliability.

We are also easy to reach. When you email us, a real person reads it and responds. We do not have a ticket queue. We will not make you wait a week for a copy-pasted reply.

How do you choose which products to carry?

Before anything goes on the site, we require suppliers to provide verifiable safety certifications (CE, RoHS, FCC, and UKCA where applicable). If a supplier cannot provide documentation, we do not carry their products. We also verify that product specs match what is described, confirm cleaning is genuinely manageable, and screen for the most common failure points — WiFi setup issues, food jams, and poor app reliability.

We also read what pet owners are actually saying — not press reviews, but Reddit threads and Quora questions from people describing what went wrong. If a product gets consistent complaints about something that affects daily use, we do not list it.

Are your products certified and safe?

Yes. Every product we carry has been tested against applicable safety standards. We require certification documentation from suppliers before listing any product, and we keep it on file. If you want to see the documentation for a specific product before purchasing, email us at support@tajrah.com and we will send it over.

Orders and shipping

How long does shipping take?

Orders are typically processed within 1 to 3 business days after payment is confirmed. Transit within the contiguous US takes 7 to 9 business days. Total estimated delivery is 8 to 12 business days from the date your order is placed.

You will receive a tracking number by email once your order ships. For full details, see our Shipping Policy.

Is shipping really free?

Yes. Standard shipping is free on all orders within the contiguous United States. No minimum order amount is required. The shipping cost shown at checkout is $0.00 — no handling fees or surcharges are added after payment.

Where do you ship?

We ship within the contiguous United States (48 states). We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, APO/FPO/DPO addresses, or international destinations. If your address falls into one of these categories, we will contact you by email before canceling your order.

How do I track my order?

You will receive a tracking number by email once your order ships. Use it to check delivery status directly on the carrier's website.

If you have not received a tracking email within 3 business days of ordering, check your spam folder first. If it is not there, email us at support@tajrah.com with your order number.

Can I cancel my order?

Orders may be canceled before 2:00 PM MST on the same day they are placed. Include your order number when you contact us at support@tajrah.com.

Once an order has been processed or shipped, it cannot be canceled — but you can request a return within our 30-day window after delivery.

Returns and refunds

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 30 days of the delivery date for items purchased directly from www.tajrah.com. We accept both defective returns and change-of-mind returns within that window.

Items must be unused (or defective), and original packaging is preferred. Email support@tajrah.com with your order number to start the process. Do not ship anything back before receiving confirmation from us. Full details are in our Return Policy.

How long do refunds take?

Once we receive and inspect your return, we process the refund within 3 to 5 business days. Your bank or payment provider may take an additional 3 to 10 business days to post the funds. Total time from return receipt to money in your account is typically 6 to 15 business days.

Refunds are issued to your original payment method. If you have not seen your refund after 10 business days from when we confirmed receipt, contact us at support@tajrah.com.

Who pays for return shipping?

We cover return shipping when the return is due to our error — a defective item, a product that does not match its description, or an incorrect item sent. We will provide a prepaid return label.

The customer is responsible for return shipping costs when the return is for personal reasons — change of mind, ordered the wrong model, or decided it is not the right fit. Original outbound shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is caused by our error.

What is your warranty?

All products purchased from www.tajrah.com include a 12-month limited warranty from the delivery date, covering manufacturing defects and functional failures under normal household use. No registration is required — keep your order confirmation email as proof of purchase.

If a covered issue occurs within the warranty period, we will send a replacement unit — you do not need to return the original. You are responsible for the shipping cost of the replacement delivery. No other fees apply. See our Warranty Policy for full details.

Setup and compatibility

What WiFi does the feeder require? Does it support 5GHz?

All Tajrah feeders require a 2.4GHz WiFi network. They are not compatible with 5GHz-only networks.

Most modern home routers broadcast both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, often under the same network name. If you have trouble connecting during setup, go into your router settings, separate the two bands, and connect the feeder specifically to the 2.4GHz band. This is the most common setup issue and the fix is straightforward once you know what to look for.

If the WiFi goes down, does the feeder still dispense meals?

Yes. The feeding schedule is stored locally on the feeder. If your internet connection drops, the feeder continues dispensing meals on your preset schedule without interruption.

What stops working during an internet outage: live camera view, manual feeding from the app, push notifications, and remote schedule adjustments. These features all require an active connection. The feeder motor itself does not.

What app does the feeder use? Is it free?

The app name varies by model — please check the product page or user manual included with your specific product for the correct app name. The app is free to download and free to use for all core features including scheduling, portion adjustment, feeding logs, and live camera streaming.

Some models offer optional paid cloud video storage for recorded clips. This is not required to use the feeder or view live video — it is an add-on for extended recording history. Check the app after setup for current storage options and pricing.

Does it work with Alexa or Google Assistant?

Voice assistant integration is not available at this time. Feeding schedules and manual feeding are managed through the feeder's companion app on your smartphone.

What is in the box? Are batteries included?

Each product comes with the feeder unit (or feeder and fountain set), a stainless steel bowl, a power adapter, and a user manual. Some models include a placemat.

Batteries for the backup power function are not included in any Tajrah model. Check the user manual for the correct battery type and size for your specific model, and install them before you need them — not after a power outage.

Feeding and portions

How many meals per day can I schedule? How many portions per meal?

This varies by model. Tajrah feeders support between 1 and 15 meals per day depending on the model. Portions per meal range from 1 to 36 units depending on the model. Check the individual product page for the exact numbers your chosen model supports.

Most cat owners find 2 to 4 meals per day works well for everyday use. Your vet is the right person to advise on the correct number and amount for your specific pet.

How many grams is one portion?

One portion unit is approximately 5 to 10 grams, depending on the model and kibble type. Lighter or irregularly shaped kibble may result in slightly less per unit than dense, uniform kibble.

We recommend using a kitchen scale during the first week to verify how much food is actually dispensing per unit, then adjusting the count to match your vet's recommended daily amount.

What kibble size fits? Is freeze-dried food compatible?

Standard dry kibble up to 12mm in diameter works reliably across most Tajrah models. One model supports kibble from 2mm to 15mm. Larger or irregularly shaped kibble can cause dispensing jams.

Freeze-dried food is compatible on select models if the kibble size falls within the supported range (typically 5mm to 15mm). Wet food and high-moisture food are not compatible with any Tajrah feeder. Check the specifications on the individual product page for your chosen model.

Do the dual bowls dispense exactly equal amounts?

Dual-bowl models dispense into two bowls simultaneously using the same dispensing mechanism. The goal is an even split, but the actual amount per bowl may vary slightly depending on kibble shape, size, and density. It is not a precision scale — it is a practical way to reduce competition at mealtime for two pets eating similar food.

If your pets have significantly different dietary needs or portion requirements, separate feeders in different rooms is a more reliable setup.

Can my cat reach into the food outlet and steal food between meals?

Tajrah feeders include a safety lock lid and a dispensing mechanism designed to prevent pets from accessing food between scheduled meals. The outlet opening is sized to dispense kibble, not to allow a paw to reach in and pull food out. Most cats cannot access the food between meals under normal use.

That said, determined cats are creative. If your cat is particularly persistent, check that the hopper lid is properly closed after each refill.

What feeder size is right for my pet?

A standard adult cat eating approximately half a cup of dry food per day goes through roughly 3.5 cups per week. Here is a quick guide:

  • 3L hopper (about 12 cups): roughly 3 weeks for one adult cat
  • 4L hopper (about 16 cups): roughly 4 to 5 weeks for one adult cat
  • 5L hopper (about 20 cups): roughly 5 to 6 weeks for one adult cat
  • 6L hopper (about 24 cups): roughly 6 to 7 weeks for one adult cat

For small dogs, roughly double the daily estimate. Use a kitchen scale during the first week to calibrate portion settings.

Can multiple pets share one feeder?

Tajrah feeders work best in single-pet households or households where pets eat the same food at the same time. If your pets have different dietary needs, or if one tends to eat the other's food, a single shared feeder is not ideal. Two feeders in separate locations is a more reliable setup for multi-pet households.

Reliability and safety

Does it keep working if the power goes out?

Most Tajrah feeders include a battery backup that automatically activates during a power outage, keeping the feeding schedule running. Camera and WiFi features require active power and will stop working during an outage.

Batteries are not included. Install backup batteries when you first set up the feeder — do not wait for an outage. Check your product page and user manual for the correct battery type and quantity.

How do I feed my pet manually if the device stops working?

All Tajrah feeders have a manual feed button on the unit itself. Press it once to dispense one portion immediately, without needing the app or an internet connection. This works even if the WiFi is down or the app is unavailable.

If the device stops working entirely and the button does not respond, contact us at support@tajrah.com — this may be covered under the 12-month warranty.

Will the feeder jam?

The dispenser is designed to handle standard dry kibble without jamming. To reduce the chance of jamming, use kibble no larger than 12mm in diameter and keep the hopper dry. If a jam does occur, most models include an anti-jam mechanism that reverses the motor automatically. You will also receive an app notification so you can check on it promptly.

Is it safe to leave the feeder running when I am not home?

Automatic feeders are designed for exactly this purpose — reliable scheduled feeding when you are away. The feeder continues to operate on your preset schedule regardless of whether your phone is connected. Battery backup keeps feeding running during power outages.

We recommend cleaning the hopper and bowl at least once every 1 to 2 weeks and checking the food level before longer trips.

Cleaning and maintenance

How often should I clean the feeder?

We recommend cleaning the bowl and food-contact surfaces at least once every 1 to 2 weeks to prevent food buildup. All removable parts are hand-washable with mild dish soap. Allow parts to dry fully before reassembling to avoid moisture in the hopper, which can cause food to clump or clog.

Which parts are dishwasher safe?

The stainless steel feeding bowl is dishwasher safe on most models. The food tank, hopper lid, and rotor are hand-wash only — do not put them in the dishwasher. The electronic unit and base should never be submerged in water. Check the user manual included with your specific model for exact cleaning instructions.

Can the food dispensing channel be removed and washed?

Yes. The dispensing rotor and food outlet channel are removable on all Tajrah feeders. They are hand-washable with mild soap and water. Remove them when cleaning to prevent old kibble residue from building up inside the channel. Dry completely before reassembling.

Camera and monitoring

How clear is the camera video?

Camera-equipped models stream HD video — either 480P, 720P, or 1080P depending on the model. Most include infrared night vision for clear visibility in low-light rooms. Video quality depends on your WiFi signal strength. Check the individual product page for the camera resolution of your chosen model before purchasing.

Does camera live streaming cost anything? Do I need a subscription?

No. Live streaming through the app is free on all Tajrah camera models. You are never required to pay a subscription to watch live video.

Optional cloud video storage for recorded clips may require a subscription on some models — this is for saving video history beyond the live view. Check the app after setup for current storage options and pricing. Local SD card storage, where supported, does not require any subscription.

Does the camera support an SD card for local recording?

SD card support varies by model. Some models include a micro SD card slot for local video storage. Others rely on cloud storage only. Check the individual product page for your chosen model before purchasing if local recording is important to you.

Can I talk to my pet through the feeder?

Camera models include two-way audio. You can speak to your pet in real time through the app, or record a short voice message of up to 10 seconds that plays automatically each time food is dispensed. Hearing a familiar voice at mealtime helps pets adjust to the feeder faster.

Does it send alerts when food is low?

Yes. WiFi-connected models send a push notification to your phone when the food level drops below a set threshold, giving you time to refill before your pet misses a meal. You will also receive alerts for connectivity issues or dispensing errors.

Water fountains

How often do I need to replace the filter?

For most models, we recommend replacing the filter every 2 to 4 weeks with regular daily use. If you have multiple pets or notice the water flow slowing down, replace it sooner. The filter helps reduce particles and maintain water flow — it does not replace regular cleaning. Clean the fountain bowl and pump every 1 to 2 weeks regardless of filter replacement schedule.

How loud is the pump?

The pump operates quietly — most models run below 35 to 40 decibels, roughly equivalent to a quiet room at night. Keeping the fountain filled to the recommended level helps maintain quiet operation. Noise increases slightly when the water level is low.

Can I use the water fountain outdoors?

No. Tajrah fountains are designed for indoor use only. They are not weatherproof and should not be placed in direct sunlight, rain, or outdoor temperatures.
